The mural was created on the blind side of an abandoned kindergarten in Plaka, near the cafe “Dioscuri” and was erased by the owner of a nearby neoclassical building, 20 days after its creation.
Castor, along with his twin brother Pollux, were named the Dioscuri (Dios-curi: sons of Zeus). He was the son of Zeus and Leda.
According to the legend, Castor died in a battle with the Argonauts, Ida and Lynx, who also were twins.
